Tinder Records Major Activity Growth in World Cup Host Cities Amid Global Romance Surge

Popular dating app Tinder has reported massive spikes in user engagement across cities hosting this year’s World Cup matches, when compared to activity levels from the same period one year prior.

Among international users visiting the host region, the platform recorded an average 47% jump in activity across all 16 tournament host cities spread across co-host nations the United States, Mexico, and Canada.

International tourists are not the only ones swiping at record rates, either. Over the same monitoring window, Tinder also logged a 22% rise in activity among domestic users based in those 16 host cities.

Looking at broader national trends across the U.S., compared to June 2025, Tinder saw a 15% increase in total active users, an approximate 25% uptick in overall swipe volume on the platform, and a nearly 60% jump in new matches created.
